Hello! My name’s Nick.
I’m an undergraduate student pursuing a Joint BA of History and a minor in Art and Art History from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and the College of William and Mary, USA. I am originally from Northern California, and I grew up ski racing in the Sierra Nevada mountains and sailing on the San Francisco Bay. My family taught me the power of storytelling to bring people together, and my studies continue to teach me how to rigorously develop those stories into impactful projects.
My current projects center on public history, educational content development, and making the humanities more accessible within museums. In my studies, I am developing multi-media content exploring complex historical areas in collaboration with faculty. Professionally, my work placements are focused on digital humanities approaches to audience engagement within museum spaces.
I sincerely believe in the pressing importance for scholars of the humanities to engage with modern demographics and meaningfully shape the future through accessible learning of the past and present. My work and aspirations reflect this commitment.
Revolutionary Ships, Revolutionary Sailors
My most recent academic project, developed and executed throughout months of independent research which built upon my last four years of study. These vignettes consider how Atlantic historians understand and incorporate discussions of maritime technology, and suggests that we could—and should—do better.
